Tracey Kerstetter (Principal)

About Ms. Kerstetter

Tracey Kerstetter has proudly served as the principal of Sandy Ridge Elementary since 2020. With a heartfelt dedication to the Sandy Ridge community, Tracey is excited to return to a school that holds a special place in her career and heart.

Her journey in education began in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she taught Kindergarten and second grade at Elise L. Wolff Elementary School. In 2006, she relocated to North Carolina with her daughter, Meagan, and quickly became an integral part of the Sandy Ridge Elementary community, teaching 3rd and 4th grade. Her hands-on approach and leadership skills were recognized when she earned the Teacher of the Year award for Sandy Ridge in the 2009-2010 school year. During her tenure, she took on numerous leadership roles and organized various events to enrich the school community and support her colleagues in science, technology, and math.

Eager to advance her impact in education, Tracey pursued further education in Educational Leadership at Wingate University. This led her to serve as an Instructional Content Facilitator for the county, where she provided invaluable coaching and support to teachers across grades K-5. Subsequently, she took on the role of Assistant Principal at Cuthbertson Middle School from 2017 to 2020, further honing her leadership skills.

Tracey enjoys a balanced life filled with travel, a healthy lifestyle, and making cherished memories with her family, friends, and her dog, Avett. Her commitment to student success and community engagement continues to shape the vibrant atmosphere at Sandy Ridge Elementary.

Patricia Yetter (Assistant Principal)

About Mrs. Yetter

Tricia Yetter has served as the assistant principal at Sandy Ridge Elementary since 2006. A native Floridian, she began her career in education in Pasco and Hillsborough counties, working as both a teacher and assistant principal at the middle and high school levels before moving to North Carolina. Mrs. Yetter holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and completed her coursework toward an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through the University of South Florida.

As a leader, Mrs. Yetter is committed to adapting her approach to meet the diverse needs of students, staff, and families. She values collaboration, open communication, and continuous learning, believing these are the foundations for building a positive and effective school community. Her leadership style emphasizes supporting teachers, engaging families, and creating an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

Outside of school, Mrs. Yetter enjoys spending time with her husband, Glenn, and their four children—Paytenn, Trenn, Tysenn, and Treytenn. Her children have all attended Sandy Ridge Elementary, with the youngest now in high school. She cherishes opportunities to visit with her kids at college football games and take short trips that bring new and fun adventures.
